For an athlete, active wears are essential as they massively impact their performance on the field, and while they are working out.

A base layer is the first layer of clothing which sticks against your skin. Hence, you must choose wisely as there are multiple manufacturers of base layer clothing. Make sure it’s material wicks away the sweat from your body, keeps you warm, and provides a maximum range of movement.

Base Layer Weights:
Light-Weight:

Since it’s the first layer of the clothing; hence, the activewear should be lightweight and breathable. The lighter the material, the better it will wick away the sweat and keep you dry. Moreover, since you’ll be wearing another clothing on the top; thus, the more breathable material is, the better the temperature will be controlled.Add paragraph text here.

Mid-Weight:

The second layer of clothing which will be worn over the base layer should be mid-weight. Therefore, make sure that the material is breathable, can keep you cool and acts an excellent moisture wicking tool.

Heavy-Weights:

Heavy-weights are bottoms like men’s running base layers. They are baggy and stretchable enough to allow maximum movement of muscles. For a runner, lower body motion is vital as leg muscles stretch a lot during running.

Material:

Nylon, wool, silk are the fibers that are used in producing a base layer.

Synthetic fibers like nylon and polyester feel good on the skin and breathable at the same time. It indicates the fact that the base layer made from these materials wicks away the sweat from the body, which subsequently pushes to concentrate more. Moreover, synthetic fibers are readily available in the market and are relatively cheap too.

Wool, on the other hand, is moderately expensive, and countries that fall on the warmer region can’t facilitate wool much as the weather conditions are already too hot for that. On the contrary, cities that are cold and experience frequent winters can use wool in the base layer so that it provides enough warmth to athletes, and their performance is not ceased. Secondly, it absorbs moisture too so the sweat is absorbed and it keeps you dry. However, the material itself dries out slowly.

Silk is a soft material; hence, it feels great on the skin and wicks away the sweat too. It also is worn in cold temperatures. In addition to this, it resists from selling foul, which satisfies athlete, and their focus is directed to their performance, and they flex more since the material is odor-free.
